CEOs of SLI Systems and U.S. Toy to Share Stage at 2012 IRWD Conference and Discuss How to Bridge Multiple Online Brands through Site Search

E-commerce Search and Usability Expert Joins IR500 Executive to Discuss Best Practices Approach to Merging Disparate Multi-channel Brands through Site Search

SAN JOSE, Calif. – February 13, 2012 – SLI Systems, the number one provider of SaaS-based, ecommerce site search and navigation solutions, announced today that CEO Shaun Ryan will co-present with Seth Freiden, CEO of multi-channel retailer U.S. Toy, at the Internet Retailer 2012 Web Design and Usability (IRWD) conference this week in Orlando, FL.

The presentation, titled “How to Leverage Site Search Across Multiple Brands,” will discuss the missed opportunities for multiple-brand retailers when search at one site doesn’t cross-link to products available on other sister sites. For example, prior to working with SLI Systems as its full-service site search provider, U.S. Toy Co. didn’t direct visitors to its B2B and B2C sites to products from a sister site when they conducted a search, and instead showed a “zero results” page, even if the intended item was carried on another site. Since cross-linking items on both sites U.S. Toy now sees a substantial lift in referrals from searches on one site to the other, driving a better customer experience and more completed transactions.

In the presentation, Ryan and Freiden will address the data organization, platform coordination, and management mindset needed to create cross-site search functionality, and how this approach can also apply to mobile sites.

The presentation will take place at 4:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the 2012 IRWD conference. More details are available at http://irwd.internetretailer.com/2012/agenda/#/feb-14-view-day-1.

“Cross-linking our search results has helped our customers find items they’re interested in tremendously, as they don’t always know which site to go to for specific products,” said Freiden. “Referrals from site search have helped us capture more sales and revenue, and have reduced calls to our customer service team. The work we’ve done with SLI has been an asset to both our B2B and B2C businesses, and we’re happy to share this case study with IRWD attendees.”

“Site search is such critical aspect of the online buying experience, yet it’s often over-looked as a key way to address substantial usability issues,” said SLI’s Shaun Ryan.“I look forward to discussing with Seth the challenges his multi-brand business encountered, and how a new approach in site search delivered a better customer experience and also presented an opportunity for cross-sales and marketing.”

SLI Systems is an exhibitor at IRWD 2012 and will be demonstrating its industry-leading full-service site search and navigation solutions in booth 300. Visitors to the SLI Systems booth can enter a drawing to win a new iPad.
