Todd Watson Joins SLI Systems as Director of Global Business and Channel Development
Former Prosodie Interactive Sales Manager to Grow Channel Partner Program for Hosted Search Solutions Provider
CUPERTINO, Calif. – March 13, 2007 – SLI Systems, Inc., a provider of on-demand search services for Internet
and e-commerce sites, today announced that Todd Watson, former sales executive
with the global e-commerce platform company Prosodie Interactive, has joined
the SLI management team as director, global business and channel development. Watson will be based in Boston, MA.
In this role, Watson will oversee the company’s channel program with responsibility for growing its partner base
in order to penetrate more high-profile, brand name e-commerce companies. Primarily, Watson will leverage his past
experiences working with industry leaders in all aspects of the e-commerce technology ecosystem, including providers of e-commerce
platform, search engine marketing and other value-add technologies such as Web analytics, email
marketing and online reviews, in order to bring a more comprehensive set of solutions to SLI’s customers.
“Todd’s background and track record are a perfect match for us, and we’re excited to welcome him aboard,”
said Dr. Shaun Ryan, president and CEO of SLI Systems. “His previous successes with one of our key partners -- Prosodie Interactive
– demonstrate his e-commerce industry expertise and understanding of online retailers’ needs, which will benefit our
partners and customers alike. We’re confident that Todd’s efforts will help us achieve our goals for the long-term growth
and success of our partner program and customer relationships.”
Prior to joining SLI Systems, Watson was sales manager for Prosodie Interactive, responsible for the entire East
Coast. While at Prosodie he helped the company gain greater traction in the previously underserved northeast region, and
was also credited with building new relationships with strategic partners and technology analysts, resulting in a significant increase in market awareness
and lead sharing. It was at Prosodie where Watson became aware of SLI’s Learning Search and Site Champion offerings,
along with its superior service, as the two companies built a strong relationship around some key joint customer deployments, like Mikasa and Company
and Ulta.
Prior to Prosodie, Watson was sales executive for Art Technology Group (ATG), an e-commerce software company
in Cambridge, MA. At ATG he actively built relationships with strategic alliance partners and developed strong “C” level
relationships on both the business and technical sides at customers such as Boston Scientific, Cablevision, CMP Media, Fidelity, MFS and Reuters America. Earlier in his career, Watson also held
sales positions with Bear Stearns and Co. and HSBC Securities. He earned a B.A. degree from the University of New Hampshire.
More than 100 companies use SLI Systems’ hosted search offerings, including Mikasa, Ulta, Tupperware, Harry and David, Smith
& Hawken, NRS (Northwest River Supplies), Fright Catalog, and eTronics.com, among others.
